Order Processing Times

Pick-up in Store

Orders for items that are in stock which are placed before 12pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) are typically processed, picked and available for collection within 3 business hours but may take longer during periods of high demand. Please provide your mobile number and you will be notified by SMS when your order is ready for collection.

Mail Order

If you have purchased items that are in stock and have paid via an instant payment method, we will endeavour to have your order dispatched within the next 1-2 business days.

  • Please note that business days are Monday - Friday - Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)

  • If you have paid via a non-instant payment method i.e. PayPal or Electronic Bank Transfer, funds will need to clear before the order is dispatched. Please allow up to 2 business days.

  • If payment is not received within 7 days of placing your order, the Swinburne Bookshop reserves the right to cancel the order.

If any item that you have ordered is unavailable, we will procure stock ASAP. Any pre-orders, or unavailable items, will be shipped as soon as the stock arrives into our store. You will be only be charged one single shipping fee at the time of your initial order, but you may receive multiple parcels depending on availability of your items.

Returned Orders

Your parcel may be ‘returned to sender’ if an incorrect address is provided, or if the parcel was unclaimed from your local Post Office within 10 days after an attempted delivery.

In the event that your parcel is returned to our store, the Swinburne Bookshop will contact you via email in order to organise either reshipment or a refund for the cost of the items. If the shipping fee has already been allocated in the initial shipment, we will require the cost of shipping to be paid again for a secondary dispatch to your location or corrected address. Any return fees charged to us by the relevant postal services must also be paid for by the customer prior to reshipment, as not claiming your parcel from your postal service incurs a charge for us to have your parcel shipped back to us from your location.

If the dispatch was an error on our part, or an incorrect parcel is sent, you will not be recharged for shipping.

Change of Mind/ Exchange

In the event you would like to return your item for another product or for a refund, the customer is liable for any and all associated shipping costs. The item must be returned to the Swinburne Bookshop in exactly the same condition it was received.

You must contact the Swinburne Bookshop to discuss any exchange within 10 business days of receiving your item. Items must be returned to the Swinburne Bookshop within 20 business days of receiving your order.
